What is “The 12 Ways School Matters in Real Life Series?”

How many times have you heard a young person say, “How is the stuff that I’m learning in school going to help me in real life?!!”

Often this myopic yet honest engagement with the educational process is very common. Generally it’s heard when a student responds to being challenged in the classroom.

However, oftentimes where there is a recurring problem or point of tension there is also an opportunity.

This brand seeks to help students engage the common problem of classroom relevancy. We help them connect the dots by offering the

“12 Ways School Matters in Real Life.”

What are the Twelve Ways School Matters in Real Life?

Conception of the idea — The idea was conceived through talking with young people, teachers, parents and community members.

I had heard the opening question in many different places, states and geographical regions.

I also saw how interacting with the question would create value for parents and educators. Educators are very intentional about designing their classrooms each year. I feel like this poster will help them better cast vision for their student’s vocational journeys.

In brief, I gave it our brand’s P.U.S.H. Entrepreneurial assessment. This concept met a purposeful passion for me as an entrepreneur and “we” engaging multiple generations of students. It was useful or had utility for the parent or educator. I reached out to a skilled Graphic Designer Macklyn Mosely to make this poster more visually appealing. Lastly, I try to honor each customer by selling them a reasonably priced product with an honest motivational message.

The “12 Ways School Matters in Real Life” is also the outline for a speech / leadership workshop that I do with students. My target audience is between the ages of middle school to first year in college. Here is an example of the presentation.
