Recipe: Strawberry Shortcake Kabobs

Utensils:

  1. Bundt Cake Bowl
  2. Electric Mixer or Spoon
  3. Mixing Bowl
  4. Measuring Cups
  5. Plate
  6. Cutting Board
  7. Knife
  8. Skewer sticks

Ingredients:

For the Pound Cake:

  1. One pound of Butter, 4 sticks
  2. 3 Cups of Sugar
  3. 6 large eggs
  4. 4 cups of all purpose flour
  5. ¾ cup of milk
  6. 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  7. 1 teaspoon of almond extract

For the Kabobs:

  1. 12 Strawberries (cut off the leaves and cut the strawberries in half)
  2. 1 Pound cake (cut into 1 inch squares)
  3. Whipping topping
  4. Optional — a bottle of white chocolate syrup

Instructions:

For the Pound Cake:

  1. Preheat the oven to 300℉ and soften the butter by mixing the butter with an electric mixer for approximately 5 minutes.
  2. Slowly add the sugar to the butter. Mix until the batter lightens and becomes fluffy.
  3. Add in the egg one at a time. Keep mixing while the blender blends.
  4. Slowly add in the flour and milk alternating a little flour then a little milk to preserve the consistency.
  5. Add in the almond extract and the vanilla extract. Make sure every ingredient is evenly mixed in the batter.
  6. Before adding the batter to your Bundt cake bowl and grease the bowl with a stick of butter.
  7. Add the batter to the Bundt cake bowl evenly smooth the batter in the bowl.
  8. Place the cake in the oven and bake for 90 to 100 minutes. You know that the cake is ready when you put a sharp knife into the center of the cake and when you remove it the knife has no batter residue.
  9. Remove the cake and let it cool for several minutes.
  10. After cooling, place the cake on a cutting board and cut it into 1 x 1 inch squares.

For the Kabobs:

  1. Cut the leaves off of your 12 (or desired) number of strawberries.
  2. Optional — Get a bottle of white chocolate syrup and drizzle the syrup on the skewers after the dessert is complete.
  3. Layer your entire skewers in this order; Strawberries, whipped cream topping, pound cake squares
  4. Drizzle your layered skewers with the white chocolate syrup and enjoy!
